A Partnership Rooted in Nostalgia and Delight

King Kandy, known for their playful branding and irresistible sweets, the brand sought to elevate their offerings with a premium range of confectionery jars. Having previously collaborated with King Kandy on standalone confectionery bags, we helped them step into a new era of packaging design with the launch of 40 product premium range of confectionery jars.

Designing a Premium Experience: The Project Journey

Our mission was clear: create packaging jars that embody luxury while staying true to King Kandy’s established brand identity. Each jar had to stand out individually, yet fit cohesively within a vibrant and nostalgic product range. The challenge of designing for 40 jars—and to further extend the range with an additional 18 bags—meant every design element needed to balance individuality with scalability.

We introduced a gold brand mark to instantly convey premium quality, paired with a two-tone colour system which allows for a visually distinct identity for each product. Bold typography became the hero of the design, ensuring the product name made a strong first impression while remaining legible across various digital platforms. To tie the jars back to King Kandy’s heritage, we added subtle nods to their branding, such as a delicate crown emblem encircling the product titles and the King Kandy character gracing the back-of-pack labels.

Overcoming Challenges with Creative Solutions

The sheer volume of products in this range was no small feat. With 58 products in total, developing a unique color combination for each could have been overwhelming. However, our two-tone color system proved to be a game-changer, creating countless vibrant pairing possibilities that ensured every product felt special while leaving room for future expansions.

Another challenge lay in balancing the jars’ premium appearance with their online retail environment. To address this, we crafted digital marketing visuals featuring bold split backgrounds with detailed images of the sweets. This design strategy ensured that the confectionery jars made a striking impact in online shops, appealing to both younger audiences and middle-aged customers who cherished nostalgic treats.
